Miguel Nacianceno was born in Manila, Philippines, in 1979. At the Ateneo de Manila University, he served two years as Photo Editor of The Guidon, the university paper, so he could call dibs on covering college basketball games.

After graduating with a degree in Communication Arts and after a quick stint at Newsbreak, a weekly news magazine, Miguel decided to work on his personal projects. His first series, Carnival Photography (2004), showed at the Lumiere Gallery. He then took a film workshop in New York and returned home with photographs for a second show at the Lumiere gallery, Common Place (2006). Soon after, the gallery closed.

In 2008, Miguel wrote and directed a short film about a day in the life of two people who learn about connecting and making self-defining choices while working at a call center. The film, Training, was seen by friends, family, and will soon be seen by people on the Internet.

Nowadays, Miguel’s photographs appear in magazines and publications in the Philippines and abroad. His commercial clients are among the country’s top companies. On his days off, Miguel enjoys watching movies in the afternoons with senior citizens, and getting lost on his bicycle.
